Theotis Joe was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where the hip hop of of the late 80’s and early 90’s helped influence and motivate his pursuit of music. Artists like Scar Face, Big Daddy Kane, KRS1, Dela Soul, NWA and others became heavy players in shaping Theotis’ lyrical style. In 2005, Theotis moved his career to West Philadelphia, where he continues to craft his songwriting skills. West Philadelphia has opened many doors for Theotis, as his talent for music has naturally allowed him to become a skilled producer not only in the audio studio but also behind the camera.
As Theotis keeps climbing on his path to lyrical greatness, he continues to amass truly inspired critical acclaim. The Delaware News Journal, The Philadelphia Weekly, and WXPN.org have all taken notice of Theotis’s upcoming record release of After Hours.
