Hip Hop Shop On Blast! Feature: Blackreign & Ohkang

Should you believe the hype? Who's to say? Nevertheless, following in the footsteps of their Motown predecessors Blackreign and Ohkang are forcing the world to take notice of their sound. An instrumental album entitled, Samplelectonic, marked the debut for these Detroit natives in 2004 and they haven't looked back. Their sophomore album, The Greatest Hits, captures the true essence of Hip-Hop while delivering those entrancing sounds that have become the signature for this duo. Radio airplay was inevitable as was write ups in the Michigan Chronicle, Metro Times and The Detroit Free Press. Possessing an uncanny ability to make music their talent is undeniable. So, whether you hear them at The Trolley Stop Lounge (Taylor , MI) The Bullfrog (Redford , MI), Finite Gallery (Detroit , MI), or The Belmont (Hamtramck , MI) you know that all the accolades they have received are well deserved. If you haven't been fortunate enough to experience Blackreign and Ohkang as of yet, you will soon realize that there is no hype, just good music.

I will say that I have been listening to their music for a couple of months now and every track I've heard has been 100% on point. I have never been disappointed by a single track I've heard. Check out more tracks by them on www.myspace.com/blackok and I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
